Social Justice

At St Joseph’s, our commitment to social justice is grounded in the Gospel message and the Josephite tradition of serving with courage, compassion, and love. We believe that every person is created in the image of God and deserving of dignity, respect, and opportunity. This belief inspires our students to look beyond themselves, recognise the needs of others, and act with generosity and hope.

Social Justice Team

Our Social Justice Team plays a key role in leading the school community in meaningful outreach and service initiatives. Made up of passionate student leaders, the team raises awareness, coordinates fundraising efforts, and encourages the wider school to engage in acts of kindness and solidarity throughout the year.

Community Partnerships

We are proud to partner with a number of local and global organisations whose missions align with our Catholic values. Through Caritas Australia, students learn about global poverty, environmental sustainability, and human rights, taking part in campaigns such as Project Compassion. Our ongoing support of St Vincent de Paul provides practical assistance to individuals and families in need within our local community, particularly through seasonal appeals and awareness-raising activities. Collaboration with The Mission to Seafarers helps students understand the challenges faced by those working at sea and enables us to contribute care packages and messages of support. In partnership with CatholicCare, we promote wellbeing, family support, and social inclusion across the Diocese.

These initiatives help our students grow in empathy, courage, and a deep sense of responsibility for making the world a more just and compassionate place. Through faith in action, St Joseph’s empowers every student to live out the call to “Learn, Love and Live like Jesus.”
